RSVP for Constitution Citizen Day Lecture

September 16, 2010 | 7:00pm - 8:00pm

You are cordially invited to attend the Center for the Study of Citizenship's annual Citizenship and Constitution Day program, “Are Corporations Citizens?:  Citizens United and the Future of American Democracy.”

This year's featured speaker will be Joel Gora, a constitutional, election and campaign finance law scholar at the Brooklyn Law School.  Mr. Gora's lecture, “ The Supreme Court’s Citizens United Decision:  A Victory for the First Amendment…And for Democracy,” will focus on the United States Supreme Court's controversial decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, in which the Court ruled that the First Amendment prohibits limitations on corporate contributions to political broadcasts.  After Mr. Gora’s lecture, there will be a panel discussion followed by an audience question and answer session.

This event will take place on September 16, 2010 at 7 p.m. in the Partrich Auditorium of the Wayne State University Law School.

We hope that you can join us at the lecture.
