Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications office works to raise the awareness of Wayne State University and its prominence in the fields of undergraduate and graduate education, research and community service. To accomplish this, we lead the institution’s branding efforts and collaborate with schools and colleges, faculty, administration, students and alumni in activities designed to support the goals and objectives of individual units and the overall university.
Our key areas of focus are:
- Marketing services: Marketing consultation and planning support for administrative functions, schools and colleges
- Publications: Print and Web design, development of publications and marketing materials
- Editorial services: Writing and editing assistance and general editorial guidance for select written and electronic publications; leadership role in communications for the Office of the President
- Web services: Web site planning, design and development
- Public relations: Development of PR plans and materials (e.g. press releases)

Parking and Transportation Services
Parking and Transportation Services manages all the parking structures and surface lots on main campus and for the School of Medicine and Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Please visit their website or contact them regarding parking rates. The office also manages the shuttle system for the university.

Media Services
Media Services manages all AV needs for the university outside of McGregor Conference Center and the Student Center. They can also recommend reputable Audio/Visual vendors for large scale events held on campus. Please call or email them directly with your event needs.

Wayne State University Police Department
The Wayne State University Police Department was formed in 1966 and provides a full range of professional police services to both the main and medical center campuses as well as the surrounding neighborhoods. Please contact them regarding event security needs and questions. They can assist with crowd control and event safety.

Department of Facilities Operations
The Department of Facilities Operations provides the following services to the campus community: Building Engineering, Custodial, Grounds, Maintenance Trades and Pest Control Services.
The Engineering Department, directed by Michael Perretti - email: dx1558@wayne.edu is responsible for the operation and maintenance of heating, air conditioning and mechanical/electrical equipment as well as utilities that serve building systems such as water, steam, natural gas and electricity.
The Custodial Services Department, directed by Eugene Carter - email: ac3898@wayne.edu provides all custodial cleaning and maintenance services within the building.
The University Grounds Department, directed by Kent Bolt - email: ab3637@wayne.edu maintains the landscaping, grounds, pavement repairs, and rubbish and snow removal.
The Maintenance Trades, directed by Dave Kuffner - email: aa9028@wayne.edu consists of Plumbers, Pipefitters, Electricians, Carpenters, Handyman, Sheetmetal Workers, Painters, and a Plasterer.
The Service Center at (313) 577-4315, is managed by Donald Wrenchand is the primary point of contact for all Facilities Operations service requests.
